Position Summary
The AV Installation Support Engineer will provide a reliable, best-in-class experience for a range of campus customers using UCLA's many general-use spaces including classrooms, labs, auditoria, lecture halls, live event venues, and other collaboration spaces. The AV Installation Support Engineer will support innovation in AV systems by integrating, programming, testing, documenting, and deploying optimized solutions.
The AV Installation Support Engineer will review system data and customer feedback to direct operational support and provide recommendations for improvement at the direction of the Supervisor, Audiovisual Engineering. The AV Installation Support Engineer will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage data and insights in service of the institution's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Three years experience working in one or more of the following fields: computer science, computer information systems, or a related field. (Required)
Five or more years experience working in one or more of the following fields: computer science, computer information systems. (Preferred)
Ability to design, build, and test AV solutions based on project specifications, and Experience servicing and troubleshooting new and legacy AV equipment. (Required)
Basic knowledge of network topology, equipment, and capabilities in an AV systems environment. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to create AV flow diagrams, schematics and AV infrastructure drawings. (Required)
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and ability to provide technical advice based onsound understanding of AV principles and practice. (Required)
Knowledge of electronics theory with emphasis on audio, video and communications circuitry, AV IT control systems and signal flow. Knowledge of acoustic design theory. (Required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (Required)
