The Adult Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy (HBC) Program Supervisor, Data Management will oversee and lead clinical data management for the HBC program under the purview of the Quality Manager, Director of Operations, and HBC Program Medical Director. This role will require the capacity to deal with a diverse group of personnel, the ability to multitask and deal with high volumes of work. Expertise in clinical data abstraction, project management, and problem solving is essential.
The HBC Supervisor, Data Management will lead a team of data managers responsible for clinical data abstraction for the HBC program's clinical outcomes database and for data submission to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), regulatory and accrediting agencies, and payers. The Supervisor will oversee the evaluation, maintenance, and modification of the clinical outcomes database. S/he will analyze and present standardized reports regarding patient treatments, engraftment, toxicity, and outcomes; coordinate responses to requests for information regarding transplant and cellular therapy patients; and oversee requests for follow-up information from outside sources to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and quality of the HBC program clinical data. The HBC Supervisor will ensure that the data management team complies with institutional, regulatory, and federal regulations.
The Supervisor will work closely with the Quality Manager and with other managers and program leadership on projects designed to improve effectiveness or efficiency in data accuracy, data management, efficiency in operations, and assist with development of benchmarks to better oversee quality aspects of the department. This includes identifying and leading efforts to investigate alternative data management products and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation features needed as the field of cellular therapy evolves.
The Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy (HBC) Program is an expanding program, and the successful candidate will use skills as an experienced and seasoned data manager to lead clinical data management through program growth within the evolving field of cellular therapy.
Reporting to the HBC Quality Manager, the candidate will be an independent, detail oriented individual, who
contributes to quality improvement initiatives and is committed to the values of the program. The candidate
will be a highly organized individual who is able to lead a team of data managers, develop training materials, and ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of data to meet the reporting requirements of CIBMTR and the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). The candidate will trend and audit data to monitor quality benchmarks, create reports, audits, and will share these findings at a Quality Management Committee (QMC) meeting. The candidate will utilize these findings to perform short and long term planning and collaborate in the development of strategies to work towards achieving the set goals and metrics of the HBC quality program.
