Job Description LEARNING & EVENT TECH SPECIALIST II, Information Services & Technology Classroom Technology Services
Category Charles River Campus --> Information Technology Job Location BOSTON, MA, United States Tracking Code 24500461540910 Salary Grade Grade 47 Position Type Full-Time/Regular
Join BU's AV/IT services & support group, Learning & Event Technology Services (LETS), and work with us on a vibrant, dynamic campus that is shaping the future of education! We are looking for a Learning & Event Technology Specialist with a focus on AV repair and maintenance to join our energetic & diverse team. LETS supports all AV/IT related services across the Charles River campus including AV installation, repair and maintenance and design of new systems. Other staff in the group also support meetings, events and the teaching and learning mission of BU by providing best-in-class support to BU's faculty and students in their use of classroom technology.
The Technology Specialist will assist with AV repair and maintenance of spaces running Crestron systems in-room and through virtual control. While all staff on the team are trained to do Tier I repair and assist with system installations when needed, the ideal candidate for this position would bring deeper Tier II experience in one or both of these areas. Many of our projects are coordinated with external AV integration partners except for digital signage and flat panel installations, which are often handled in-house. Experience in commissioning systems and working alongside integrators, facilities staff and trades would be helpful. This onsite position entails working evening as needed for uninterrupted access to classrooms and other spaces for diagnostics and repairs. All LETS positions may also entail limited weekend/holiday work. In return, we provide an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, professional and personal growth, career development, open doors, life-long friendships, and a sense of purpose topped off with a touch of humor and frequent laughter (& BBQs!)
