DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Associate Director – Student Conduct and Restorative Justice, the Policy & Programs Specialist coordinates and supports SAGE programs, processes, and procedures.
Facilitates policy and process management by processing and reviewing non-academic student conduct, student compliance, and restorative justice reports, manages and coordinates Student Conduct Reviews and Title IX Hearings, and manages and processes sanction reduction requests and appeals for non-academic and Title IX cases.
Provides consultation, advice, and assistance to students, staff, and faculty about policies, procedures, and guidance. Develops and facilitates trainings, workshops, and outreach events about departmental programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to follow University policies, federal and state regulations, and case law related to student conduct and student compliance, including FERPA, Clery Act and Title IX. Proficient knowledge and awareness of the interrelationship of student conduct policy and governmental laws with student development. Expertise in federal and state regulations related to student conduct, including FERPA, Clery Act and Title IX.
Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and delivering workshops and training sessions; proficient public speaking and presentation skills. Proficient experience and understanding of student learning outcomes assessment.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures. Familiarity with University administrative structure, college system, student services, residential life and academic programs.
Proficient understanding of the developmental and educational context in which the student conduct process is administered and managed.
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. ** Proficient skill utilizing Microsoft Office applications including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and electronic mail.
Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. *Proficient interpersonal skills to successfully interact with a variety of people and offices, at all levels of the university community.
Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Ability to exercise political acumen and maintain strict confidentiality and an understanding of the importance of protecting the privacy of records and correspondence.
Ability to maintain composure, diffuse client anger and anxiety with tact and diplomacy, and be able to follow up consistently on all assignments and pending matters.
Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Possess skill to independently interpret and follow written policies and protocols as applied to complex fact patterns when resolving issues.
Excellent organizational abilities, project management skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills, including synthesis of information, consideration of alternatives, ability to prioritize and decide among alternative actions, based on partial information.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $58,600 - $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.07 - $48.28
