The Solutions Analyst uses their understanding of the college's enterprise class and department-wide systems, reporting infrastructure, application dependencies, database structures and rules, and stakeholder needs to continually assess and improve the way departments conduct business, as well as troubleshoot technical issues as they arise. They work closely with members of the campus community to identify, plan, build, and manage technology-related projects that deliver value to the stakeholder. Driven by multiple stakeholders' needs, they work independently to prioritize and set timelines for their workload and collaborate with other ITS staff as needed to implement projects. The Solutions Analyst uses their technical and business knowledge to advise functional departments and other ITS staff on using technology to meet the college's strategic initiatives and business goals.
Essential Functions:
Researches, determines, and communicates options to meet stakeholder requirements. Depending on project specifications, decides to build solutions independently or as a key member of a technical team. Prioritizes independent projects and manage timelines based on availability and stakeholder dependencies.
Creates standard and complex queries for data extracts and develops/maintains business intelligence reports for executive leadership, campus departments, third-party vendors, and/or regulatory agencies that are necessary for completion of their duties and objectives. This includes report design for the presentation-layer, user interfaces, performance specifications, and data security standards, as well as, applying scripting skills (via Structured Query Language), knowledge of proprietary database structures, an understanding of the departments' data rules and intricacies, and ability to elicit unambiguous requirements from the requester.
Analyzes and resolves unique software, data, reporting, and database process issues for departments, focusing on timely problem resolution and effective customer communications. This may involve coordination with vendors or other ITS staff and responding to helpdesk tickets.
Manages technical components of report and software implementations, integrations, upgrades, and maintenance for department stakeholders. Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders to determine the appropriate rollout or maintenance strategies to promote the health and stability of the systems and processes, and accuracy of analytical reports. Specifies testing requirements based on design and project goals, and resolves testing feedback from users.
Continually analyzes stakeholders' business processes and needs to identify, plan, and deliver solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce errors, and adapt to new requirements. This includes creative problem solving for projects that require an atypical approach for a solution.
Serves as technical liaison between stakeholders and other Enterprise Systems staff for project requests, problem solving, solution design, and issue escalations. Represents departments, as well as Enterprise Systems, in meetings related to technical/system matters.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree – Business or information technology-related field
1 – 3 years work experience.
Experience with SQL required. Experience with the support and use of Ellucian Banner, IBM Cognos, and other enterprise class document imaging systems is preferred. Experience in a college or university setting is preferred. Demonstrate a basic understanding of project management and coordination. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of relational database concepts. Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge in solving new and varied problems. Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical users required. Demonstrate ability to work within a team-oriented environment and with users/administrators who are not technically skilled.
