The Senior Manager, Legal Talent Technology & Analytics is responsible for advancing systems, data management, reporting and insights across Legal Talent, including Legal Recruiting and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”). The role involves leveraging technology, analytical expertise and project management skills to develop and execute on a roadmap that enhances the impact of existing systems, drives data quality, expands insight and awareness, enables strategic initiatives and generally supports the business objectives of the Department.
Responsibilities
Partner with Director, Legal Talent Development and Director, Legal Recruiting Analytics and other senior leadership in Legal Talent, Legal Recruiting and DEI to establish, design and implement technology and data and analytics solutions that best align Legal Talent with Firm business needs
Assess new systems, conduct analysis, make recommendations and lead solution implementation of a new staffing platform
Partner with the senior leadership teams across Legal Talent departments to enable the effective use of core department systems, data and workflow solutions
Analyze and document existing department processes for accuracy and process improvement
Advance the Department’s data management efforts, ensuring reliable relationships between systems, data integrity and quality, and fit with changing business needs
Develop comprehensive reports and analyze data from various Legal Talent systems for management reporting
Partner with data scientists within other Firm departments to deliver on advanced analysis
Maintain awareness of relevant data originating outside the Department and make recommendations on what information can be included in reporting based on technical feasibility
Liaise regularly with management to review requests for projects, highlight issues, and present viable solutions
Establish and maintain vendor relations for related systems
Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in software providers, vendors and technology
Develop and provide training on core and advanced systems functionality
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across teams in HR, Office of the General Counsel, IT, Finance and Knowledge
Partner with IT, Finance, Knowledge and other departments to align on project strategies, resources and plans
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with data privacy and protection guidelines
Lead special projects and perform other duties as needed
Education
Required
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance or related fields
Preferred
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in business strategy, computer science, data science or analytics
Skills and Experience
Required
7+ years of relevant experience, with prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment a plus
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including ability to work under pressure, prioritize project tasks, manage risks/issues, solve complex problems and communicate status
Must possess a combination of strategic and critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, and strong analytical ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain and lead discussion of results of analysis and projects in concise and professional manner
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse group of subject matter experts and managers
Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, be flexible, handle highly confidential information appropriately and have exceptional attention to detail
Extensive experience conducting database analysis, writing SQL queries and retrieving data for reporting
Proficiency with MS Office Suite; including comprehensive data analysis experience, using advanced Excel skills (macros, vLookup, pivot tables, etc.)
Familiarity with applicant tracking software
Preferred
In-depth understanding of Workday, Micron Systems, viDesktop, viConnect or similar tools
Familiarity with statistical and machine learning-based analysis, including predictive, descriptive and inferential analysis
Proficiency in statistical programming languages, such as R and Python
Experience with report writing software, working with APIs and troubleshooting data and reporting issues
Expertise applying business intelligence / data visualization solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, etc.)
The estimated base salary range for this position is $180-210k at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning that it is not overtime pay eligible.
