Department: Rural Drug Addiction Research Center-10950
Description of Work:
The Women's Integrative Sexual Health (WISH) Lab is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate for a position beginning in spring or summer 2025. The WISH lab is housed within the Department of Psychology and the Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior. The goal of this fellowship is to conduct and disseminate rigorous research in sexual and mental health. The Fellow will support the research team in conducting an NIH-funded project using longitudinal symptom networks to assess interactions between mood, stress, substance use, and sexual function among heterosexual and bisexual women. This fellowship is designed as a two-year experience that includes in-depth training in sexuality science, quantitative and qualitative methods, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In-person residency in the lab is preferred but hybrid/off-site work is negotiable.
Although it is expected that the Fellow will have some prior experience with analysis of survey data and repeated measures designs, significant training will be available in advanced modeling techniques and working with sexual health data. In addition to the many existing projects and datasets available in the WISH lab, there are also ample opportunities for collaboration with our partners in the Department of Psychology; Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior; Rural Drug Addiction Research Center; and the Minority Health Disparities Initiative. Duties of the position include:
Conducting analysis of symptom networks and longitudinal survey data.
Collaborating on project development, experimental design, and data analysis of new research projects and/or secondary analysis of existing datasets focusing on sexual and mental health.
Co-authorship and dissemination.
Conducting phone/Zoom interviews with research participants and weekly data integrity checks.
Assisting with project management and coordination on ongoing research projects.
Contributing to grant development.
Assisting with training and mentoring students on data analysis and/or visualization.
The position is ideal for candidates wishing to ultimately pursue a variety of career paths, including a tenure-track faculty position with a combined focus on research, teaching, and mentoring as well as positions in non-academic settings.
