We're looking for a multi-tool player who can create compelling video, social media, photo and written content that showcases the quality programs and amazing people in our community. Video, which is the primary role of this position, is heavily promoted on our website and via our robust social media following, providing an established platform to showcase your skills.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meeting regularly with the associate director of video production to determine content priorities.
Working closely with the video producer, university photographer, and university editor on a variety of projects in a collaborative environment.
Providing compelling video clips for use on social media and assisting with feature projects.
When assigned a feature video, coordinating all phases of production, from concept to finished product. This may include planning, scripting, interviewing, lighting, capturing audio, editing, creating motion graphics, producing and directing.
Creating compelling motion graphics for videos you produce.
Writing short captions, headlines and copy for social media.
Contributing engaging photos for social media and assist the university photographer with studio photo shoots and other projects.
Communicating with the web team to better understand digital content needs and suggest creative solutions.
Contributing a constant flow of innovative ideas for how to better connect with our audience across all digital platforms.
Staying on top of industry trends as well as the latest software and video/photo equipment.
Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

A day in the life of this position:
The Video Content Specialist will work off of a predetermined schedule based on priorities and deadlines. Each day will look a little different, as some days are full of getting video footage, prepping for a shoot, looking over scripts, editing completed footage, adding motion graphics to videos or contributing social media content. There are also meetings that involve planning for content or pre-production for upcoming projects. Everyday includes collaboration with the marketing team, including content directors, video producer, content specialist and photographer. This role will also partner cross-departmentally on projects, and interact with and supervise a student employee.
We're looking for candidates who have:
A Bachelor's degree in video production, photography, graphic design, journalism, communications, marketing or a related degree.
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with video equipment and editing software.
A high-level understanding of social media strategy.
Demonstrated experience engaging an audience with effective storytelling.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Basic knowledge of photography equipment and editing software.
Basic knowledge of graphic design software.

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
May be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of a normal office environment but could include lifting more than 25 pounds and performing any activities such as balancing, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, crouching, climbing ladders, kneeling, repetitive motion, and reaching above shoulder level.
