GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Adjunct Instructors are vital to Kirkwood Community College's success. We are looking for instructors with a background in Web Application/Computer Software Development who can teach courses on weekdays and during daytime hours.
These classes are in person, and there is no remote option available.
Coursework will include but will not be limited to:
Fundamentals of Web Programming PHP/Apache/MySQL Web Content & E-Commerce Systems

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be able and willing to deliver courses in variable delivery times, methods, and locations as required by the college.
Effectively organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses in accordance with established syllabi to students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly.
Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis.
Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to student grade book.
Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty on a regular basis.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field
Two years of field experience in an area involving software development, computer programming, data analysis and reporting. (Quality assurance, business analysis or requirements analysis is acceptable if duties also included programming.)
Experience with Python, Java, C# or other high level programming languages.
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or other web scripting languages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Master's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
One year of experience teaching or training technical subjects.
Community college experience.
Experience with popular code libraries and frameworks, design patterns, N-Tier, MVC, REST, SOA, Agile, Scrum, GitHub, cloud development or devops.
Technical certifications or professional memberships.
