Position Title: HRIS Analyst

Description:
Reporting to the Director of HR Systems and Operations, the HRIS Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our HRIS applications within the Human Resources department. The HRIS Analyst will be responsible for providing functional and technical support for HRIS applications, ensuring data integrity, analyzing workflows, and identifying process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst will work collaboratively with HR functional areas and college/division HR key contacts to research and resolve issues within the applications, provide ongoing application configuration and maintenance, and develop data queries and reports using Microsoft Access and analytical tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops ad hoc reporting for the HR Team and other University constituents as needed.
Creates both summary and detailed reports and dashboards for data such as HR regulatory compliance, demographic trends and turnover.
Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to talent acquisition, employee engagement, turnover, student employment, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Utilizes this data to make actionable recommendations.
Analyzes HR workflows and processes to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and user experience enhancements.
Cultivates relationships with the campus community and Information Technology. Collaborate with these constituents to spearhead the digital transformation of HR Systems and Operations including use of generative AI technology.
Completes compensation and regulatory surveys (IPEDS, AAUP, Chronicle of Great Colleges, Common Data Set, NYSED).
Tests and implements configuration changes and upgrades, support interfaces, continuous automation efforts and proactively identify and resolve issues associated with data. Documents process and results.
Ensures data and systems are secure. Documents HRIS processes/policies/workflow, provide systems training and customer service.
Assists with administering/coordinating annual compensation planning processes and develop compensation reports to monitor compliance with regulatory changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 3 years prior work experience, specifically with HRIS and related areas such as payroll, job classification and compensation.
Prior experience writing advanced queries using functions, expressions, inner/outer joins and other advanced features.
Prior experience with analytical reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
Advanced Excel skills including experience with formulas, v-lookup, pivot tables, nested if statements, conditional data formatting, charts, graphs and other advanced features.
Demonstrated experience managing various conflicting deadlines in an environment that requires balancing the demands of multiple priorities.
Exhibit ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
Demonstrated high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access and Excel.
Experience working with large volumes of data.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, payroll, and other employee management software.
Demonstrated high level of analytical, conceptual thinking, and quantitative skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to visually summarize data for an executive audience.
Experience with Ellucian Banner is a plus.
