Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance & Operations, the Business Operations Associate manages the finance and operations for the departments under the Office of the Chancellor. The Office of the Chancellor oversees innovation in experiential learning, embracing digital and lifelong learning; learner mobility across both the global university system and internationally; student life including housing, wellness and student organizations; enrollment management, incorporating admissions, marketing, and financial aid; strategic partnerships; Division 1 athletics and university recreation; The Roux Institute at Northeastern University; as well as jointly leading, with the Office of the Provost, the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Process requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and reimbursements
Ensure that all expenses are accurately submitted and posted with correct details and all required documentation
Reconcile and resolve finance discrepancies
Serve as point of contact for the Office of the Chancellor with internal and central departments on all business operations matters
Advise, train, and monitor compliance with divisional and University policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed
Proactively review compliance, spending, and department protocols, and raise fiscal or policy concerns with department leadership
Support employee management processes
Review and recommend best practices and protocols that create efficiencies
Perform and present statistical analysis on divisional, department, or program trends as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
2-3 year's experience in an operations, accounting, or finance role
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, manage time, plan and organize work, and develop and maintain constructive working relationships.
Customer service experience and comfort interfacing with a diverse community
Demonstrated flexibility and comfort with changing priorities while maintaining day to day duties
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with enterprise finance systems or other data management tools.
