Position Information: Leadership & Service Programs include leadership programming and opportunities, civic engagement, and community service programs and initiatives that connect UCR students with the greater Riverside area. In order to provide a comprehensive leadership development and service program at UCR, these programs are directly connected to fostering student learning about the core of social issues and providing skills on how to respond as leaders to make a difference in their communities.
This position will provide direction and oversee student programming, including but not limited to: the student leadership conference, leadership development education and opportunities, civic engagement programs, and various community service and volunteer initiatives. Collaborating with various departments and community partners will be essential to ensure success for all programs. The Senior Coordinator will also provide the direction of the strategic plan to ensure the goals and objectives are achieved. This position will also support general Student Life Office functions and events as needed.
The full salary range for the Coordinator for Leadership and Service Programs position is $66,500 - $118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $79,450 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.

Custom Scope Utilizing advanced, specialized expertise provides direction and guidance to lower level Student Services professionals in specialized student life and development programs, and resolves the most complex cases/situations; and/or has programmatic responsibility for a discreet complex Student Life & Development function or content area.
Department Custom Scope The Leadership and Service Programs area works to make service to the community and civic mindedness a critical part of leadership on the UCR campus. Furthermore, this programmatic area aims to make meaningful community engagement a pillar of the Highlander experience. The Senior Coordinator for Leadership and Service Programs is responsible for providing the vision, direction, and supervision to leadership, community service, and civic engagement programs within the office of Student Life, ensuring their alignment with the departmental, divisional, and campus strategic plans. The Senior Coordinator will also provide the vision and direction for the Leadership and Service Programs strategic plan, budget, marketing, and assessment. The Senior Coordinator works independently on large campaigns and initiatives and may lead campus-wide committees/workgroups. This position will take on large-scale programs/projects within the Leadership and Service Programs area including, but not limited to, the Inspiring R Leaders Conference, UCR Leadership Week, the UCR Leadership Certificate Program, the UCR Volunteer Center, the Community Service Portal, the Community Partner Program, large-scale volunteer days, UCR Votes Coalition, and all other leadership, service, and voter education activities in the office of Student Life. The Senior Coordinator is responsible for the assessment of current programs and initiatives, and the ideation and development of new services, resources, programs, and initiatives within Leadership and Service Programs. Collaboration with various departments and community partners will be an essential function of this position. This position will support the Student Life mission, vision, and strategic plan, which focuses on social justice, leadership development, and creating a sense of belonging for students, and will also support general Student Life functions and events as needed.
