1. Manage staff, including recommendations for hiring, disciplinary action, coaching, training, and mentoring (when directly managing staff) and oversee study submissions and allocation of work among individuals and/or teams.2. Provide direction and feedback to staff or teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant completion of submissions and other activities.3. Prepare and escalate regular reports on individual and team performance, compliance, quality measures, and other relevant information.4. Contribute to departmental and cross-departmental initiatives and projects, including policy drafting and editing, as well as managing standard operating procedures and guidelines for human subject research review.5. Perform, manage, or assist with the duties of the Analyst, Senior Analyst, or similar roles.6. Oversee or assist with regulatory matters, including applying ethical principles and standards for the protection of human research participants, and remaining qualified to serve on University committees such as the Yale IRB.7. Manage or support compliance activities, such as audits, reportable new information, and agency inspections.8. Oversee or assist with quality-related activities, including quality control, assurance, and improvement.9. Handle or assist with operational tasks, including providing feedback on departmental initiatives and assisting with the drafting and editing of related documents.10. Facilitate or assist with activities related to relationships external to the HRPP office and the University, including engagement with ancillary committees and external entities.11. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skill/ability 1:  

Sophisticated knowledge of applicable legal, regulatory, and medical terminology and demonstrated expertise and ability to interpret, analyze, apply, and communicate (verbally and in writing) applicable ethical principles, standards, regulations, guidance, policies, and academic and industry trends that impact human research.
