Leads emergency plan review and updates for Centers including collaboration with Center staff, local third-party firms, and relevant University departments.
Works closely with the Office of Legal Counsel and administrators in units across campus and serves as a resource for University administrative processes and general guidance.Â
Assists with implementation of a training program to support compliance in focus on areas of improvement identified through audits and inspections.
Maintains accurate records on corporate legal requirements, including country registrations, affiliate governance, business taxation, audits, and insurance coverage.
Facilitates new country office registrations and updates, as well as oversight of required compliance filings.
Advises University community members, including faculty, staff, and students, on business, legal, and regulatory requirements pertinent to the Universityâ™s international activity.
Develops checklist and documentation to address file organization and ensures that correct documentation is maintained and received from/delivered to subcontractors.
Recommends, develops, and implements policy and procedural changes to improve the efficient operations of the office.
Supports operational initiatives that may correspond to additional human resources, financial, or legal compliance requirements.
Understands and triages sensitive issues requiring additional escalation; proactively engages other partners to inform decisions.
Provides initial review of funding requests and note required updates needed per existing standards.
Responsible for training office staff on office procedures and compliance protocols. Coordinates special projects.
Researches and analyzes data to create reports and may create other reports for grants and contracts.
Plans and executes internal and external audits and activities to support regulatory agency inspections.
Prepares, completes and submits all compliance documentation on a routine basis. Coordinates compliance committee meetings.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
1-2 years of experience with grants, contracts, human resources, IT, policy creation, and compliance.
Working with international constituents in an academic setting.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Supporting corporate compliance documentation, records, and minute books.
Understanding of, or willingness to gain understanding of, sponsored research in higher education setting.
