SEARCH DESCRIPTION:

The Tow Youth Justice Institute, part of the Henry C Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking a Juvenile Justice Policy and Oversight Committee (JJPOC) Project Coordinator. The JJPOC is a legislative charged with evaluating policies and making recommendation related to juvenile justice issues in CT. The JJPOC Project Coordinator is full-time, grant funded position and works in a team with other TYJI staff and faculty to achieve the goals of the JJPOC.

The Project Coordinator reports to the JJPOC Senior Project Manager.

Roles and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate and work with the Executive Director of the Tow Youth Justice Institute, the JJPOC Senior Project Manager, and other UNH faculty, staff, and students to achieve the goals of the JJPOC.
• Coordinate, assist, and provide support to JJPOC workgroups by drafting of agendas, PowerPoints, and other meeting material.
• Schedule and provide logistical support for JJPOC monthly meetings and meetings of its workgroups.
• Support the Senior Manager in development and implementation of the project plans of the workgroups.
• Support the JJPOC workgroups in researching best practices in the field of children?s behavioral and mental health, and draft reports as identified through legislation and or the workplans.
• Facilitation and or co-facilitation of meetings as determined by the JJPOC project plans.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Bachelor?s Degree in related subject/concentration.
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination.
• Experience working in a related field of youth justice.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, on-line meeting platforms Zooms, Microsoft teams, Google meets, and website navigation) and/or other presentation software.
• Additional preferred skills and abilities:
  • Understanding of project deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of youth serving state and municipal agencies, organizations, non-profit providers that touch the lives of youth in CT.
