The faculty members serve as both instructors and researchers.
 
The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses that may be offered in-person, online, and/or via distance education modalities. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department?s students. The individual will leverage their experience, expertise, and training to the success of the various department programs. The faculty member will collaborate with other departmental faculty and staff to ensure student success.
 
Responsibilities include:

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level classes and laboratory in Organic Chemistry. Additional courses within area(s) of specialization may be assigned based on department needs.
• Support the Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) program by teaching PPD-specific courses
• May serve as the director of the PPD program
• Advise and mentor students. Provide academic and professional development support
• Develop a robust research program in organic and/or medicinal chemistry
• Serve the University and the community through various service activities
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field/discipline. ABD may be considered ? must be completed on or before July 31, 2025
• At least 2 years of experience teaching and conducting research in Organic Chemistry
• Experience advising and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students

• Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, including project management
