The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood (HHHK) builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to develop clinical pharmacists responsible for the medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions who are eligible for board certification and PGY2 training.

Graduates of the two year PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration residency program will receive a postgraduate year one (PGY1) and postgraduate year two (PGY2) certificate from HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. Residents will earn a Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership & Administration from University of Houston College of Pharmacy. During this time, residents are involved in high-quality patient-centered care, medication safety, facility and division leadership and practice management, project management, quality and regulatory projects, and education of healthcare providers and trainees.

Applicants must:

1. Graduate from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy by the start of the residency year
2. Be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas by August 31 of the program year
