Position Summary:
Stanford University Press is in the midst of a period of significant sales growth. We seek a highly motivated Sales Coordinator to provide ongoing service and support for the Stanford University Press sales operations. Working in SUP's Redwood City offices, reporting jointly to the Assistant Marketing and Sales Manager and the Marketing and Sales Director, the Sales Coordinator will assist as we develop relationships with new external sales agents and new customers, and will contribute to the department's overall mission to expand our customer reach and improve the responsiveness and efficacy of our operations.
In this role, you will:
Provide and monitor data and metadata for SUP titles at a portfolio of existing accounts and develop new customer relationships as directed to achieve sales goals.
Collate and submit monthly sales data to SUP's external sales and distribution agents.
Generate regular (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) reports on sales activity and performance internally and to SUP's sales and distribution agents, as directed.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with both existing and prospective customers, including academic department partnerships.
Anticipate, respond to, and resolve customer complaints and inquiries from defined account base and/or stakeholders.
Assist in creating sales and event materials that may include brochures, flyers and other supporting materials.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to learn new sales techniques and strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) essential.
Occasionally stand/walk, light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds, writing by hand.
Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.

The expected pay range for this position is $22.88 to $25.50 per hour.
