Position Information: Reporting to the Director of the LGBT Resource Center, the Assistant Director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and assessing programs designed to provide support, education, and advocacy regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. The Assistant Director, is the second senior member of the staff and acts on behalf of the Director in their absence and represents the Director at campus-wide committees and meetings. The Assistant Director serves a vital, pivotal role in the administration of the Center and the development of the Center's programs, policies, and practices. The Assistant Director, in conjunction with UC Riverside LGBT Resource Center team, cooperates with campus departments to address cross-issue social justice and diversity organizing. The Assistant Director advocates for the well-being of students, with a specific focus on students of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.
The full salary range for the Assistant Director, LGBT Resource Center is $64,300 - $114,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $64,300 - $83,520 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Requirements: Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Master's degree. Preferred
Experience Requirements
6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Experience in a lead role, including responsibility for providing day-to-day oversight of area, leadership of team meetings, and decision-making. Required

Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Advanced knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Advanced abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
Advanced ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Knowledge, sensitivity and understanding of the social, political, personal and cross-cultural needs, concerns and interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, agender, aromantic and people of intersecting identities in the campus community and thorough understanding of LGBT Resource Center mission, vision and values.
Knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion including an understanding of the historical and social context of diversity, equity and inclusion, and of the intersections of identities including but not limited to: race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religious, ability, and class background.
Ability to develop educational programs, including diversity training development and facilitation.
Ability to clearly articulate the specific needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, agender, aromantic and people of intersecting identities to university community members unfamiliar and uncomfortable with issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
