We're seeking someone to join our team as a Tax Advisory Director in Wealth Management Operations to perform advisory on tax reporting/withholding relating to equities, preferred stock, publicly traded partnerships, debt securities and distributions along with mergers and tender offers events.

What you'll do in the role: - Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts - Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions - Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution - Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations - Properly track, review, maintain guidance to be fed to downstream systems
What you'll bring to the role: - Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures - Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget - Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise - Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you - General knowledge of corporate actions income and reorganization processing - Understanding of Non-Resident Alien and U.S. withholding tax and its impact on IRS tax forms reporting (1099/1042-S) - At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $68,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
