The Clinical Trial Manager, under broad direction from the project PI and input from the Senior Project Operations Manager, is responsible for assisting in the implementation and oversight of an international vaccine clinical trial for an emerging zoonotic disease. Incumbent is accountable for the overall clinical trial management for the designated program, including providing strategic direction, leadership, and management to multi-disciplinary study teams to ensure timely clinical trial execution.
This contract position ends one year from date of hire with possibility of extension or conversion to career.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Current certification by RAC, SoCRA, or ACRP
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or Clinical Research Administration or other medicine-related fields.
More than 5 years of clinical research and/or research administration experience and thorough knowledge of all aspects of clinical trial operations; extensive knowledge of FDA and ICH regulations, GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies, and SOPs for conduct of human subjects research in an academic environment.
Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices, and procedures, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and make recommendations for effective solutions, strategies, and/or approaches. Problem-solving skills to use logic to solve complex and difficult problems with effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to maintain effective relationships with staff, colleagues, and external customers, understand and appropriately respond to multiple and frequent inquiries, requests, and instructions in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner with tact and diplomacy.
Good investigative skills with a high degree of accuracy and high attention to detail with exercise excellent judgment and maintain strictest confidentiality of patient, study subject and academic matters.
Ability to set priorities across multiple projects at any single time and demonstrate flexibility due to changes in workload, pressures, or deadlines, competing requirements and program changes; and excellent organizational skills for scheduling and facilitating meetings for large groups, and to complete individual project assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree or other advanced degree in Biological Sciences or Clinical Research Administration or other medicine-related fields.
International experience in pharmaceutical industry as a trial manager, CRA, monitor, auditor, or project manager.
Knowledge of the UC Davis or other academic health center policies and procedures on clinical research administration.
Skilled in time management and priority setting; time management and organization skills to complete tasks independently and experience working in or leading multi-disciplinary teams.
