During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2023-24 academic year the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Cinema & Media Studies may have part-time teaching opportunities for courses that count toward the Media Arts and Design major and minor. We seek studio-oriented courses in areas that include experimental digital media production, augmented and virtual reality development, AI + Art, networked media creation, software art, game development (especially programming in Unity), and other areas of media arts and design practice. We also seek courses in areas that include comparative media studies (e.g., video games and music, television and cinema, etc.); history of computational and digital media; race, gender, and sexuality in gaming; television studies; and transnational media studies.
Responsibilities will include preparing lecture- and/or workshop-style classes, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments and testing materials.
Qualifications are a BA/BFA, professional experience in a related field, and/or at least the equivalent of one year of experience teaching at the university or post-secondary level.
Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2023-24, the minimum per-course salary is $7,538. This position is not benefits eligible.
