The Bruin Learn team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines Bruin Learn products and application technologies, including but not limited to learning management systems, third party tools, and campus integrations. This department also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.
The Supervisor, Bruin Learn (Canvas & Campus Integrations) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Canvas & Campus Integrations team, offering guidance, managing project timelines, and ensuring the optimal allocation of resources, while also serving as a liaison between the team and ITS leadership. They will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Canvas & Campus Integrations systems that support UCLA's strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of the university's students, faculty, and staff. This leader will lead the prioritization of delivery plans, overseeing the development of acceptance criteria as it relates to organizational goals, and facilitating continuous improvement to support growth and operational effectiveness. They will also service as the service leader for the associated tools. The Supervisor will partner with cross-functional delivery teams to ensure Canvas & Campus Integrations initiatives meet business and user requirements, and with business stakeholders to iterate on and improve the products over time.
The Supervisor, Bruin Learn (Canvas and Campus Integrations) will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage Bruin Learn products and applications. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Five years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: product management, application development, learning management systems, or another related field.
Two years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to define a clear product vision and strategy that connects with an organization's goals and objectives.
Significant experience delivering learning management technology products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with UX/UI principles and the ability to collaborate with designers to create user-friendly products; Ability to understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors through market research, user feedback, and data analysis.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate work assignments to medium-sized teams. Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, supervising others, and advising teams on competing priorities. Significant experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues.
Extensive experience solving technical and non-technical problems; able to delegate solutioning when appropriate to the proper resources. Able to lead data gathering efforts seeking information from multiple and diverse sources. Experience operating as a point of escalation. Demonstrated understanding of how decisions affect teams. Demonstrated ability to make decisions with integrity.
Demonstrated experience providing inclusive leadership of others, cultivating an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience/training in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or related field.
Seven or more years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: product management, application development, learning management systems, or another related field. (Preferred)
Five or more years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Preferred)
Competence in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and market segmentation to inform prioritization of efforts. (Preferred)
Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working with agile development teams, including familiarity with Scrum or other agile frameworks. (Preferred)
Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
