What we do:
The Markets business within BNY Mellon helps both BNY Mellon and 3rd party clients' access financial markets to solve their trading, financing, liquidity, and collateral needs. The Markets business has approximately 550 people spread across 28 locations globally. Within Markets, there are over 2,500 clients in more than 80 jurisdictions.
Within Markets, the Fixed Income & Equities ("FIEQ") Sales and Trading business specializes in market making Rates, Credit, and Equities across both securities and derivatives, including a Debt and Equity Capital Markets business.
We're seeking a future team member for the role of Fixed Income and Equity COO to join our Global Markets Trading COO team.
Reporting to the Global Markets Trading Chief Operating Officer (Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Equities, Capital Markets) in New York, the role will involve working with the Global Head of Fixed Income & Equities and the respective Leadership Team. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated and experienced COO team. The primary responsibilities for the successful candidate include: (1) Drive transformational change across a global suite of businesses, (2) Develop and execute business strategy, and (3) Represent the business in projects, operational life-cycle events, regulatory and control initiatives, and core business management activities.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
Directly support the Global COO and the Global Head of Fixed Income & Equities
Independently drive business strategy and commercial projects to effect material change to the business
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Audit to drive prioritization and accelerate delivery timelines
Manage a portfolio of global regulatory initiatives and interface with external and internal examiners for regulatory exams or audits
Deliver key business updates to senior business leaders on commercial milestones, initiatives, and challenges
Manage the annual budgetary process in conjunction with the CFO focused on business strategy, initiatives and commercial outcomes

At least 5-10 years' experience in Financial Services or Management Consulting (structured problem solving) required
Strong Fixed Income or Equity product knowledge required
Experience and demonstrated results in a global team environment required
High level proficiency in Microsoft Office products required

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
