Title: Center for Workforce Development Success Coach

Reports To: Executive Director
The Success Coach provides one-on-one counseling and a customized success plan for students at-risk as well as a range of workshops and other college wide activities to support student success. The success coach works closely with Program Managers, tutors, Project Access, and non-academic resources across the college to support students in achieving their personal, academic, career and professional goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide on-one counseling, case management, and effective learning strategies. to CWD (Center for Workforce Development) students.
Create a success plan for each student, schedule regular meetings to track academic and career progress, and ensure access to support service.
Identify early signs of academic challenges and implement intervention strategies.
Serve as an advocate for students, helping them navigate administrative processes, policies, and procedures.
Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, and training sessions on topics relevant to student success, such as time management, goal setting, and study skills.
Gather data and participate in the analysis of program outcomes.
Work collaboratively with CWD team, and instructors.
Collaborate with CWD Program Managers, Student Accessibility Services, English Language Learner Supports, Project Access, Learning Communities, Tutoring Services, and other departments to monitor progress and addresses early risk signals such as poor class attendance or failure to produce assignments.
Other duties as assigned.
Prior experience in advising, counseling, mentoring, or coaching students is highly desirable.

Skilled in Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree in counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field; with three (3) years' experience and/or training or comparable experience involving academic advisement, career development, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds who possess various academic abilities and interests.
Prior experience in an urban community college or with diverse populations.
Experience with performance tracking and managing individual needs of a diverse group of students with ability to mentor, motivate, and map the success of students is also required.
Bilingual (Preference for Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean-Creole, or Portuguese).
This is a full-time, benefitted, Non-Unit Professional Position.

Public Transportation is available to the College via the MBTA Orange Line Roxbury Crossing Station which is an eight-minute walk to the campus.
Location: Roxbury campus. This position will be eligible for a maximum of two days of telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Expected start date: Spring 2024
