ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is looking for a Lead Financial Analyst to join our Finance team This role is preferred to work at the ESG Corporate office located in Newburgh, Indiana. This position may also be remote.
The Lead Financial Analyst assists the Manager, FP&A in the analyzing and reporting of accounting and financial information, both internally and externally. This position, in conjunction with the Manager, FP&A, will prepare and coordinate budgets, multi-year monthly forecasts, ad hoc requests, and variance analysis for all of Energy Systems Groups’ business units, for the guidance of management.
The essential functions of the position include:
Lead the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and financial information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability against budget and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
Enhance/develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President and the Board of Directors and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities
Prepare budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, and analyze and report variances
Provide technical financial support, including financial modeling and return analyses for possible acquisition targets
Utilize multiple data sources to create management reporting including Balance and Revenue analysis, Expense analysis, and Key Risk Indicators
Assist with preparation of materials for ESG’s Board of Directors
Perform additional operational analysis as requested by Senior Management
Partner with business leaders on development and maintenance of long-range strategic plans
Optimize ERP and other software platforms for continuous improvement by working with the IT organization, including data categorizations, reporting capabilities, and business guidance
Your background includes:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Seven (7) years of related experience
Outstanding financial, analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Knowledge of proforma income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow modeling in both an operating basis and GAAP basis
Excellent financial modeling and slide deck presentation skills
Mastery of Microsoft Office Products, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and knowledge of multidimensional database
Advanced knowledge of Finance and Accounting
