Position Summary:
The Head of Strategic Planning & Performance Management directs and oversees the Program and Performance Management Office and Strategic Planning teams, including providing executive level support, advice, and thought partnership on execution of strategic initiatives that improve organizational and clinical performance, drive growth in service lines, create financial sustainability, and transform business units. In coordination with Hospital and School of Medicine leaders, this role manages successful development and delivery of a critical portfolio of work that advances the vision, including creation of annual strategic operating plans for key enterprise objectives, leadership for each operating plan to maximize likelihood of meeting objectives, and organizing interdisciplinary teams to realize health system goals. The person selected for this position will also mentor project leaders to improve processes, procedures and standards based on needs, develop champions for key projects, assure sufficient involvement by appropriate stakeholders and deliver projects on time and on budget. The leader will utilize the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), lean Six Sigma or related methodologies, as well as internal and external best practices, to accomplish organizational goals. The individual will identify and escalate issues, develop detailed project action plans, and provide executive recommendations to maintain the portfolio. The individual will also understand key market trends, business issues, and data to challenge and drive objectives, regularly providing executive ready presentations that enable critical decision-making.

Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc.)
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
Proven ability to quickly develop credibility with various/all constituencies
Effective report writing, presentation skills, and written and verbal communication skills in English to a broad and diverse audience
Five or more years of supervisory/management experience
Ability to effectively work with key stakeholders to successfully understand and deliver desired outcomes
Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field
5 or more years of project management and strategic planning and management experience
Excellent customer service skills to understand and articulate diverse clients' needs and objectives; manage expectations and deliver as promised and on time
Strong demonstrated leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills to lead and work collaboratively and effectively with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams, and with executives, providers, and staff at all levels; experience facilitating integration and collaboration
Advanced project management experience, and ability to manage multiple complex work streams with high degree of autonomy, exhibit professional judgment, and prioritize projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified in Change Management
Lean Six Sigma Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional Certification
Healthcare industry strategic planning and deployment experience with experience in large-scale cost reduction initiatives
