Information and Educational Technology (IET) often acts as a technology consultant and project manager to the campus and individual departments. The objective is to advise the campus as to the appropriate application of technology in solving business problems, and to manage critical campus projects which implement information technologies.
The IET PMO has extensive influence on campus-wide technology efforts by virtue of contributions to the campus in the use of technology; participation in initiatives with significant technology policy implications; management of complex technical projects; participation with business units on product/solution surveys; and participation in RFP and RFQ processes related to campus computing.

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Project Management Office, act as a project manager and analyst by analyzing the suitability of proposed and in-progress IET and campus projects, participating in recommendations for the organization and construction of project deliverables and services, and managing the change management and implementation of chosen solutions.
This position must work cohesively with departmental level leadership to ensure success and is responsible for monitoring the effectiveness, development, and execution of major projects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Hire must be located in CA. This position can be done primarily remote with the expectation that the employee must be available to come on site when management deems it necessary for meetings, support activities, emergencies, etc. No reimbursement of travel expenses, travel time not considered work hours.
Due to the mission-critical services provided by this department, this position may work hours other than M-F 8-5, especially in response to system problems. Work flexible or extended hours as workload demands. Must be routinely on-call as required.
Vacation is restricted during peak work periods.
Occasional travel required between campus and off-campus locations.
Adhere to workplace safety practices, read information communicated about workplace safety, complete required safety training on time, and report any workplace safety issues promptly to their supervisor or the designated safety coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
Experience leading a team through all phases of the project management life cycle for projects of various types, sizes, and criticalities.
Experience applying project management principles, processes, tools, and techniques to highly technical projects.
Experience and analytical skills to learn unfamiliar processes, translate knowledge into new logical contexts, and make choices based on reasoned argument.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
Technical proficiency sufficient to support project planning and management, strategic planning, and technology assessment.
Written and verbal communication skills to present complex concepts and recommendations to various hierarchical and technical levels.
Computer skills and experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project) and document management services (Box.com, Google Drive).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred License/Certification:
PMP Certification and CSM certification.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in science or technical discipline, with an emphasis in technology management or information management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive experience managing information technology projects for which an application development methodology was enforced.
Experience building and managing customer/client relationships.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
Understanding, knowledge, and ability to apply campus policy.
