The UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR, https://ictr.wisc.edu/) helps researchers move their research findings from experimental settings into real world use in clinics and communities (`translating' research into practice). We do this by supporting the career development of researchers through training and educational programs, and by providing a range of services that assist researchers with the development and delivery of their research projects (such as help with study design and data analysis, and guidance on partnering with communities to recruit diverse study participants). Inclusivity is a core value in ICTR and guides how we work within our organization, with the researchers we support, and with the community members we strive to serve.
The Training and Education Project Manager is a new position that will coordinate a variety of training and professional development opportunities for researchers to support their career development, including training in mentorship, team science, leadership, and translational science. This work will require extensive collaboration with training and evaluation programs in ICTR, as well as a focus on process improvement. The Training and Education Project Manager will coordinate efforts to 1) integrate planning for training sessions across the career development programs; 2) evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions; and 3) further develop and enhance the training programs. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase leadership and project management skills while also bringing creativity to a highly collaborative environment.
