Provides advanced technical expertise on classroom a/v design, conference room design, lecture capture, field recording and all other audio visual services provided to faculty, staff and students. Designs, installs, supports and provides technical trouble shooting for all AV equipment on all DePaul University campuses. Creates and implements updated A/V road maps that will allow the University to upgrade their current A/V equipment so that DePaul can move to the forefront of A/V in higher Education. This position requires travel between those campuses and is on call 24x7. This position is also responsible for all A/V research and development as well as Digital Signage installs.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for all A/V related build outs including classroom A/V technology. Provide technical expertise for complex A/V designs that integrate with existing systems, equipment recommendation/pricing, equipment installation and technical support for A/V build outs. Responsible for all A/V related conference room build outs.
Responsible for creating and implementing an A/V roadmap (including conference rooms and classrooms) for the University that will allow the University to update the existing A/V setup so that the University can move to the forefront of A/V in Higher Education. Responsible for research and development on all emerging A/V technologies including but not limited to classroom capture, Zoom and Digital Signage (Nanonation).
Provide technical expertise for complex A/V designs that integrate with existing systems, equipment recommendation/pricing, equipment installation and technical support for all video conferencing solutions. Responsible for supporting all Video Conferencing equipment at the University. This includes setting up test calls, providing on-site support (as needed) and providing technical trouble shooting for all NeatBar conference rooms and zoom enabled classrooms and conference rooms. Oversee maintenance and software for all video conferencing solutions.
Responsible for maintaining good client relationships with IS peers, other University departments as well as external A/V vendors. Attend University wide committee meetings. Responsible for staying up to date on A/V user group information and A/V conferences.
Develop and maintain consistent and accurate documentation and policies on all a/v equipment and projects.
This position will provide purchasing recommendations and guidelines for all A/V at the University. They will work closely with their peer and the IS Services Director and AD of AV Technology & Support to create a roadmap for AV (including conference rooms and classrooms) for the University. Will supervise students and other staff as needed for projects
While this position will not have their own budget, they will provide purchasing recommendations both for Information Services and other departments that partner with IS. This position will be the main contact with all A/V vendors and will be responsible for maintaining good client relationships with them.
What You'll Need:
Bachelors in Computer Science or AV Educational Technology (or related field) required, Master in Computer Science, Educational Technology, or Human-Computer Interaction preferred. 4+ years of experience in a/v design and implementation preferably in higher education or in classroom design. Excellent working knowledge of current a/v equipment, projectors, sound systems, recording equipment and lecture capture options desired.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including writing, editing and presentation, are required. Must be able to translate technical concepts into simple ideas and concepts that are understandable to broad audiences. Must be able to effectively create and improve learning materials. Expertise in at least two multimedia production tools and broad mid-range skills in a variety of information/instructional technologies.

Dante Level 2 Preferred
Advanced research skills required.
Must be able to actively research all new and emerging A/V technologies. Familiar with Shure Conferencing Microphones and Audio DSP.Must be aware of all A/V user groups and relevant A/V conferences. Must be able to create professional-looking business documents, including technical documentation for relevant systems, how-to documents for customer consumption and troubleshooting documents for lower-level technical staff. Must be able to create and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, and customer service skills.
Must be able to routinely lift up to 50lbs.
Requires 24x 7 availability as this position may be paged via mobile phone during off hours for system issues. Evening and weekend hours occasionally required
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to acquire expert knowledge independently.
Excellent organizational skills are required. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment is required
