About Us:
Appelbaum Animal Clinic is a family-owned, 2 1/2 doctor small animal clinic in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are currently in the process of expansion and close to moving into our shiny new hospital. We are excited to add someone new to our team to be a part of the expansion of our tight-knit work family. We are seeking a full-or part-time associate veterinarian that is hard working, has a positive attitude, treats our clients and employees well, and ultimately cares for their patients. Positive work culture is extremely important to Appelbaum Animal Clinic and our staff sincerely enjoys working together. Come join our family. We enjoy smiling and laughing while we work.
Our staff is well-trained, and our emphasis on the details regarding client care is only one of the things that separates us from our competition. We have in-house lab, and our services include well- and sick patient care, soft tissue and some orthopedic surgery, dentistry/dental radiology, therapy laser, ultrasound, and DR digital radiology. We have a great working relationship with both referral/ER centers in Tulsa, as well as with Oklahoma State University College of Vet Med. Our staff and doctors have years of experience in handling various types of cases, and we have a family-oriented environment.
Mentorship is very important to us. New and recent graduates will be offered mentorship as much as they would prefer. Our doctors are consistently discussing difficult cases amongst each other, and are open to new ideas and perspectives. Our "older" doctors are more than willing to help with the most basic or the most difficult medical and surgical cases. Collaboration is highly encouraged at Appelbaum Animal Clinic.
We treat a wide variety of cases, from preventative medicine (vaccine/parasite control) to complicated internal medicine, dermatologic, and surgical cases (routine spay/neuter, soft tissue, dentistry, and some orthopedic surgery).
Pay is based on a Pro-sal model, with no negative accrual. Base pay starts at $90,000/year, but is commensurate with experience, with bonuses being on top (bonuses are definitely achievable).
Benefits include health insurance, CE allowance, organization membership, licensing and DEA/OBN registration, and SIMPLE IRA (matching), among other things.

Started in 2016 by Dr. Mark Appelbaum, a veterinarian with over 25 years of experience, Appelbaum Animal clinic has quickly become a staple of the Tulsa area thanks to the hard work, dedication, and client-oriented focus of the entire team of doctors and staff. We are a family-owned, 2 1/2 doctor small animal clinic. We have an excellent reputation in the Tulsa area, and many of our industry reps and referral centers recommend us for quality care. The owners are in the clinic almost every day, working together with the staff and doctors to provide client service and patient care. Our staff is well-trained, and we have several team members who have been with us for many years. We focus on client care and education, which we believe leads to better patient care. Continuing education is important to us, as is professional growth. We find work-life balance to be very important and do our best to allow our doctors and staff to have ample time away from the clinic.
