Marist College welcomes applicants for an exciting opportunity as a Linux Security Administrator. This position will be full-time within the Marist IT team. The Linux Security Administrator will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure. The selected candidate will be a key member of the Infrastructure Team, responsible for assuring the operational integrity and connectivity of servers and deploying integrated solutions to solve customer needs and requests with a security focus. The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. This is a security focused role working closely with the Cyber Security team, moving forward security initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Five to eight years’ of experience in systems administration or a related field
Essential Functions:
In this position, you will perform the following functions:
Technical and project planning, and communication
The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
Operating system and application installation, customization, and maintenance
Technical administration and support including backup, disaster recovery, security, and troubleshooting
Data Management
Establish and monitor quality control and performance levels
Be an active member of the security committee, develop and enforce security best practices

Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
