New York City College of Technology (City Tech), located in downtown Brooklyn, is the designated college of technology within the City University of New York (CUNY). The college offers 58 career-focused associate and bachelor???s programs, and comprises three academic schools: Professional Studies, Arts and Sciences, and Technology and Design. The School of Professional Studies at City Tech offers highly-regarded associate and baccalaureate degrees in allied health and other career and professional fields, many requiring licensure or certification, and some unique within CUNY. City Tech seeks an experienced leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Professional Studies.

The Dean of the School of Professional Studies reports to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, and provides academic leadership to the School, including curriculum and instructional design, annual and long??term academic and fiscal planning, faculty and personnel evaluation, enrollment and student success initiatives, securing external funding, and development of a productive teaching/learning environment.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee and support the activities of the department chairs and program coordinators.
Following university and college guidelines and the collective bargaining agreement, oversee the hiring and review of faculty and staff and ensure that personnel processes are carried out effectively.
Provide guidance and support to faculty.
Support the development of and make recommendations for new degree programs and curricular updates to current programs.
Review and make recommendations for course offerings and scheduling for the academic year.
Manage the budget for the School of Professional Studies.
Support maintenance and improvement of facilities.
Secure grants and other external funding and support.
Oversee the preparation of program reviews and self-studies for accrediting agencies.
Take overall responsibility for activities to support the teaching/learning process.
Foster a student-centered environment, conducive to collaboration, research, scholarship and teaching.
Perform related duties as assigned by the President and Provost.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
An earned doctorate or equivalent in a relevant discipline is required.
Appropriate administrative experience and academic credentials that would support a professional appointment.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to academic success and career preparation for a diverse student body.
Facility for recruiting, supporting, and retaining an inclusive and effective instructional and administrative workforce.
Ability to manage and direct academic programmatic enhancement.
Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, analytical, strategic, and staff management skills are essential.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$160,000 ??? $175,000. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
