As a key member of the executive management team, the Associate Provost forTeaching, Learning, and Student Successoversees one or more College functions to fulfill comprehensive strategic goals and contributes to overall College strategic objectives. The Associate Provost plans and implements a range of successful programs and oversees staff, budget, operations, and facilities.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Provost, the Associate Provost forTeaching, Learning, and Student Successwilllead ormanage one or more College administrative functions and develop, implement, and assesses programs to meet the College???s strategic goals. The Associate Provost is responsible for staff supervision, budget, operations, and facilities within assigned areas.
The Associate Provost forTeaching, Learning, and Student Successprovides leadership for the implementation of the College??? strategic priorities to maximize student???s potential to succeed and to advance excellence in impactful teaching.Theywill work collaboratively as a member of the senior leadership team. Specifically, they will collaborate with the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, Research, and Innovation, the Associate Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness, and the Assistant Vice President for Digital Learning. They will also integrate their work with the Divisions of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
In this recently redesigned position, the Associate Provost forTeaching, Learning, and Student Success oversees the three student success centers, academic advisement, new student programs, honors, the new office of experiential and community engaged learning, and other areas.They will represent the Office of the Provost on matters related to curriculum development, curricular progression, co-curricular alignment, course scheduling and generally advance student success as a result of excellent teaching.
Specific duties may include:
Strategically align improvements in the learning environment and student advising to advance student success and equity in access, retention, completion, and post-graduation outcomes.
Provide leadership in developing and ensuring execution of a vision that advances student access, excellence in teaching and learning, and student success across all academic programs.
Collaborate with the Associate Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness to ensure the integrity and accountability of academic programs by upholding professional and accreditation standards.
Facilitate instructional and student affairs schedule efficiency and optimize faculty, staff and facilities utilization. Collaborate on the planning of class schedules.
Represents the provost and interacts with faculty and staff in development and improvement of curriculum in support of student success
Oversees curricular and co-curricular aspects of the new student experience for all incoming students (i.e., First Year Experience)
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Other Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess a terminal degree from an accredited college/university and must have a significant record of academic achievement commensurate withapossibleappointment as a tenured faculty member in one of the academic departments of the College. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, including for online programs, and in advancing student success in higher education is required. Demonstrated facility with data-informed decision making required, experience with AI-enhanced students services is also desirable.
The Associate Provost should have administrative leadership experience in an academic organization, with a focus on academic planning. Successful candidates must be committed to the mission of our urban public university to an excellent and inclusive education and to create new knowledge through scholarship and research.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$165,000 - $180,000; salary commensurate with education and experience.
