Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Job Summary: The Director of College Relations is responsible for strategic planning of external relations which may include planning and managing high profile events, college wide communications, or assisting the Dean with cultivating high profile relationships.
Additional Department Summary: The Director of College Relations is responsible for strategic communications planning, including all college-level print materials, digital content, and social media. Uses analytics and reports to inform and guide communications and campaigns.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or Advertising and four (4) years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications; OR Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or Advertising and two (2) years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in computer skills. Considerable demonstrated skills in writing and editing, interpersonal interactions, diplomacy, marketing, and a keen knowledge of relevant issues and trends in news and higher education. AP Style. Exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated project management, strategic thinking, and leadership skills required. Relevant experience managing media relationships. WordPress. Information design and management.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with three (3) years of communications experience, including experience in related functions and personnel management or assignment delegation.
