This position provides high-level administrative support for the International Initiatives and the College Assistance Migrant Program teams. Performs work of a confidential nature. Review student data, analyze reports, and make recommendations on follow-up actions. Interprets, develops, and implements programming policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other university stakeholders. This is a full-time position that reports in person to the main MSU campus.
Responsibilities:
Designs, plans, and implements services and programs sponsored by Migrant Student Services.
Oversees ongoing operations related to the study abroad and study away programs.
Manages and coordinates collaborative efforts with international organizations in Spanish-speaking countries.
Engages in problem-solving concerning unique challenges that affect student participation by triaging as needed, identifying resources that can help address issues, and suggesting and communicating potential solutions.
Supports federal CAMP grant Associate Director with the planning, coordinating, and overseeing programmatic activities.
Engages in data collection and analysis, writes, and edits reports and presentations. Collaborates with Associate Directors to develop long-range plans for the MSSII & MSS CAMP programs.
Research, establish, and document policies and procedures related to the application process and participation in study away and study abroad programs sponsored by MSSII.
Exercises discretion and initiative in reviewing, routing, and responding to correspondence. Requests and reviews student and provider collaborate data to ensure compliance with study away and study abroad application requirements.
Researches functions of various departments at MSU in addition to relevant functions provided by external partners (national and international) to answer questions from current and prospective student participants of the study away and study abroad programs.
Assists the Associate Directors in the management of program expenses, budget, and transactions related to related projects. Gathers and analyzes data and makes recommendations related to budget allocation. Processes travel and expense reimbursements related to the program. Maintains inventory of office and program supplies, places orders as needed, and processes invoices.
Serves as liaison for faculty, staff, administrators, and representatives of external agencies to coordinate programmatic activities.
Monitors and documents costs associated with programming. Plans, coordinates, conducts, and/or presents at workshops, seminars, and related informational forums.
Performs typical meeting and event management functions including but not limited to scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, communicating meeting agendas and expectations, documenting meeting minutes, and related budgetary functions.
Interacts regularly with campus and community partners.
Designs and coordinates marketing materials for the program, including print, web, and social media.
Facilitates any unique needs that arise out of the partnerships with external partners.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Social Science, Education, Business, Liberal Arts, or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience working with college students and programming or similar related activities, coordinating projects with social service agencies, government agencies, non-profits, or similar related volunteer activities; bilingual English and Spanish (oral and written) abilities to communicate with all levels of governmental and Non-Govermental Organization, entities abroad; experience with word processing, database, desktop publishing, web page design, and maintenance software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a valid vehicle driver's license where needed to perform the duties of the position.

This position will work standard hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM most days, and may require some evenings and weekends.
