What You'll Do
Reporting to the Office of the Chief Information Officer, the Senior IT Contract Specialist will play a pivotal role in the negotiation, procurement and management of a wide variety of technology contracts, including software licensing agreements, hardware procurement, cloud services agreements, data protection agreements, IT professional services contracts, and technology maintenance and support contracts. The position will manage a portfolio of IT contracts; collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT Software Licensing Management Services, Procurement, the University Privacy Officer and the General Counsel’s office to ensure alignment on contractual and legal matters; provide contract-related support and guidance to management and technology project teams. While legal expertise is valuable, we are primarily looking for someone with a deep understanding of technology and software licensing to drive successful contract negotiations and management.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in IT contract negotiation and management, and/or industry-related experience required in business, IT, contracts administration, law, or a related area.
Excellent knowledge of technology trends, software licensing models, current and emerging compliance requirements impacting IT hardware, software, and services acquisitions and contract terms.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate contract terms successfully addressing business needs, licensing, compliance with Tufts terms, security, privacy, and other requirements.
In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, IT hardware purchasing and technology services agreements.
Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Project management skills with the ability to complete work within specified time periods.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education.
Pay Range
Minimum $84,400.00, Midpoint $105,550.00, Maximum $126,700.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
