Job Description
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Coordinator for Employer Relations & Experiential Learning. This position exists to support experiential learning programs and activities housed within Career Services as well as relationships with local employer partners. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Career Services & Employer Relations, this position will specifically focus on maintaining and enhancing experiential learning opportunities for Nevada State students with local employers. Current experiential learning programs that reside in Career Services include for-credit internships, non-credit internships, and internship and fellowship funding programs through TheDream.US (in collaboration with the Manager of Undocumented Programs). This role will also help maintain existing employer partnerships and seek new employer partnerships.

Core Responsibilities:
Internship Development & Management
Serve as main internship point of contact to employers, students, and faculty.
Update, administer, collect, and organize all relevant internship forms from employers (i.e., Internship Site Agreement, Intern Evaluation Form, etc.) and students (i.e., Liability Release Form, Evaluation of Internship Site Form, etc.) to be used for accreditation purposes.
Collect and manage data to produce and maintain outcome statistics and annual reports on student internships.
Oversee compliance with internship best practices and standards among faculty in for-credit internship courses as well as employer partners.
Meet with student interns as needed and resolve issues as they arise.
Employer Engagement & Development
Work with Assistant Director to strategically identify, build, and maintain relationships with corporate, nonprofit, and public sector employers for recruitment of NS students for internships and other experiential learning opportunities.
Work with Assistant Director to track employer relationships in CRM system.
Conduct yearly check-ins with all internship/experiential learning employer partners to ensure ongoing compliance with NS policies and procedures and to promote good stewardship with NS.
Research & Development
Research and benchmark; learn what comparable institutions provide in their Career Services departments for hands-on/experiential learning with employers.
Provide recommendations to Assistant Director and Director on new opportunities for experiential learning program development (i.e., volunteer opportunities, employer mentoring programs, career “treks”, etc.).
Develop pertinent processes and procedures for new experiential learning programs.
Program & Event Management
Support Assistant Director in the planning and execution of career-development events/workshops/programs with employer partners.
Promote employer events and programs through physical and digital marketing.
Additional Duties as Assigned
Conduct classroom presentations and workshops on various career- related topics.
Represent the Career Services Center at admission/recruiting events, student orientation programs, and community networking events.
Support the supervision of department student workers.
Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience related to career services, internship management, employer relations, human resources, and/or recruiting within a university/college setting.
Ability to build effective professional relationships with excellent communication, listening, and customer service skills.
Possess excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Experience working with diverse students and special student populations (i.e., first generation, non- traditional aged students, veterans, etc.).
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Knowledge of workforce and recruiting trends as well as college career development trends.
Experience in event/program planning and management.
Experience with CSM and CRM software (e.g., Handshake, Less Annoying CRM).
Demonstrated knowledge and use of NACE internship guidelines, Department of Labor internship regulations, and internship standards/best practices.
