USC Health Sciences Advancement seeks an experienced professional for the position of Data Analyst. This position will report to the Manager, Prospect Development.
The successful candidate will be a critical thinker whoâs curious, creative, insightful, proactive, resourceful, and detail oriented.Â The position requires strong analytical skills, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience, preferably in higher education advancement or an academic medical center environment. The Data Analyst will provide input and interpret results in support of decisions affecting business operations and strategic initiatives.
Provide support to the Manager, Prospect Development in overseeing development operations and gift officer activity from a data perspective
Provide supplemental support to the Manager, Administrative Operations as needed with data related tasks
Assist gift officers and support staff with tracking and managing of proposal pipelines
Contribute to training and education for the team regarding best practices for data integrity
Prepare and analyze existing reports for proposals and relationship management
Perform data analyses and assist in interpretation of results using a variety of techniques to support business practices
Coordinate and assemble confidential documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Undertake special projects as directed
Familiarity and understanding of CRM systems; USC uses Salesforce.
Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources that can be used to make decisions, analyze data and report results.
Ability to handle multiple projects on an ongoing basis while addressing daily needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of confidentiality, regulatory and university policies; demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive matters and material.
Demonstrated ability to work with various constituencies and colleagues on projects that require attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and diplomacy.
Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills with ability to work equally well independently and as a team member.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated knowledge and accountability related to the planning and prioritization of projects, programs, and activities using sound judgment while meeting organizational needs.
Must be highly motivated, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be able to meet deadlines and goals independently.
Bachelorâs degree, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Field of Expertise:
Proficient PC skills;
Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing programs;
Ability to manage and analyze data;
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Experience developing customer relationships and delivering customer-focused service;
Three or more years of administrative and/or project analyst experience;
Experience in a complex medical or academic development setting;
Practice a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality;
Ability to multi-task effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills;
Sound judgment and decision making;
A cooperative and team-oriented attitude.

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $85,000.
