Job Description:
This individual serves as the primary career navigator for ERIE21 Lock 4 graduates, and will develop impactful coaching relationships with adult students and job seekers as they embark on their new career pursuits. With the ultimate goal of providing personalized, intentional success coaching to the alumni of our ERIE21 Lock 4 programs and students engaging in work-based learning opportunities with employers, the Career Success Advisor will work alongside ERIE21 students as they make the transition to full-time employment, helping them determine personal goals, develop individualized success plans and implement strategies that promote success and persistence in the workplace. The Career Success Advisor is an integral part of the ERIE21 team and will collaborate with internal & external team members to deliver a robust program for Lock 4 trainees who are just beginning their careers in the tech industry. This individual will also work closely with employers and community partners to ensure candidate success upon securing employment.
This position is funded by external sources and is contingent on the continued receival of those funds.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Coaching, Mentoring & Support
Meet regularly with and hold office hours for alumni of ERIE21 Lock 4 programs & current students who are engaged in work-based learning opportunities including, but not limited to, internships, apprenticeships, project-based experiences & freelance work
Provide mentoring and coaching for trainees to develop and accomplish their personal & professional goals
Design, implement & document standard operating procedures for workforce success coaching for adults who are unemployed, underemployed or misplaced from the workforce, creating an individualized success plan with each student
Collaborate with Centerstate CEO, Le Moyne's Office of Career Advising & Development, CNY Works and others to implement job readiness programming, ensure Lock 4 candidates are prepared to be hired with local employers upon completion of their respective programs
Assist trainees in processes related to their on-the-job training experience including, but not limited to hiring, communication in the workplace, navigating challenging conversations, professionalism and more
Refer trainees to appropriate internal and community-based programs and support services as needed to address issues including, but not limited to, food insecurity, housing/homelessness, language services, disability support, academic tutoring, mental health counseling & financial empowerment
Stay up-to-date on best practices in workforce development, with a focus on mentoring, success- and job coaching, and share best practices with Lock 4 and broader ERIE21 teams
Employer Relations
Serve as the Lock 4 liaison to community partners in work-based learning, including but not limited to CNY Works & Centerstate CEO, focusing on student placement in on-the-job training experiences such as internships, apprenticeships, project-based experiences & freelance work
Lead Lock 4 efforts to place students into full-time roles upon completion of their respective programs and work-based placements
Collaborate with Career Consultant and Centerstate to build relationships with employers, with the goal of obtaining hiring commitments for ERIE21 lock 4 candidates
Collaborate with fellow Workforce Success Administrator to plan and implement at least two skills-based hiring events annually. This individual will focus on the employer experience.
Establish a routine and profess for solicitation of employer feedback, gathering data on lessons learned to inform program best practices and ensure candidates are able to persist and find success in the work place
Management & Operations
Lead campus and community partners in the design and implementation of on-the-job training opportunities for ERIE21 Lock 4 students
Organize and facilitate at least one monthly meeting for all team members involved in trainee work-based learning experiences
Serve as the primary contact for industry partners for feedback on the candidate and employer experiences
Maintain accurate, organized and detailed records and summaries/reports in compliance with ERIE21 funding sources
Provide updates on trainee success, achievement & challenges on at least a monthly basis or as requested by Director, Associate Director or instructors
Represent ERIE21 at Divisional, Advisory Board, Leadership Team and Board of Trustees meetings as requested by the Director
Promote ERIE21 to various constituencies
Attend Le Moyne College activities and events to interact with College students, faculty and staff
Respond to inquiries from ERIE21 students, families, faculty, and other college personnel
Promote the ERIE21 resources and achievements to internal and external audiences
Participate in and provide support for college committees, campus-wide programs, admissions events, and professional development opportunities
Support the Student Engagement Specialist and Academic Services Coordinator as needed
Perform other ERIE21 duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in business, communication, human resources, social sciences or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
3-5 years of experience in a related field.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a range of industry, community and campus constituencies
Demonstrated effective experience and skill in working with students from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional experience in workforce development or related sector
Knowledge of local, state and federal support services to refer students to appropriate community resources (i.e. transportation, financial assistance, child care)
Experience with career advising and/or workforce development for individuals from diverse backgrounds
Familiarity with the role of advisor and mentor to non-traditional age college students
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written skills
Willingness to work flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend work
Experience with Microsoft Office, Course Management Software (e.g. Canvas) & social media platforms
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
