Roles and Responsibilities:
As Associate Director of Design, you'll merge architectural expertise with creative leadership in managing projects and teams. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Design Leadership
- Lead the design team in crafting innovative and creative design solutions that align with project objectives and exceed client expectations.
- Offer design direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to team members.
- Lead and facilitate design reviews and meetings with Sales Lead and clients.
- Project Management
- Collaborate and oversee multiple commercial food service projects.
- Ensure the design process stays on course, meeting scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure smooth project progression.
- Client Collaboration
- Engage with clients to fully grasp their vision, needs, and requirements.
- Conduct client presentations and site visits, with occasional travel as required.
- Act as a consultant when necessary.
- Quality Assurance
- Uphold design deliverables to the highest standards, in line with established guidelines and best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive project scheduling, sequencing, and expectations, even when managing multiple concurrent or conflicting projects.
- Professional Development
- Keep abreast of architectural trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to enhance your skills and contribute to the growth of the design team.
- Architectural registration in any jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in organizational and communication skills at a professional level.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, with a basic understanding of SketchUp, Revit, and MS Office.
- Exceptional presentation skills.
- Proficient in team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration.
- A solid understanding of the costs associated with Food Service environments.
