Position Summary:
Leading in a digitally driven world takes agility and savvy. The UCI Paul Merage School of Business' approach prepares students to adapt to the ever-changing business environment and face head-on the challenges brought on by disruption. To lead in the disruption of today and tomorrow, we need to understand these technologies and master their strategic implications. One way we are accomplishing this is by using cutting edge instructional approaches and technologies through digital course and program delivery. Our digital learning department spends dedicated one-on-one time with faculty to develop digital courses that focus on optimizing student learning. With our hybrid Fully Employed MBA classes and the expansion of our BA undergraduate online offerings, we are changing the way our students take digital courses. Our digital learning team focuses on three overarching course design goals, which are to create synergies for minimizing transactional distance, incorporating diverse opportunities for learning connections and designing active digital learning experiences. Digital learning at the Merage School is more than a convenience; it's an experience. Just as the production of goods and services is changing in business, so are we capitalizing on new technologies to build community, provide access and create world class learning experiences. By reconceptualizing the path by which students learn, we are doing our part to build flexibility and access in education, bolstering the American Dream.
Specializes in technical course delivery support that promotes the successful facilitation of learning experiences at the Merage School. Serves as an instructional and student support resource for courses utilizing technology for a variety of delivery formats. Knowledgeable in digital teaching and learning best practices and skilled both administratively and technically in order to actively support instructors using the Canvas LMS and/or other corresponding learning technology tools. Demonstrate the ability to develop and/or deliver group and/or one-on-one consultations for faculty and teaching assistants in order to prepare and/or support the technicality of delivering a course using Canvas; which may include training, demonstrations, and/or creating support documentation/communication. Serves as a course's primary liaison between faculty and teaching assistants, students, the program office, Canvas support services, learning technology administrators, and/or course designers. Also, under direct supervision, assists with basic or routine design and content initiatives in compliance with defined organizational policies, procedures and objectives.

$23.23 - $27.66 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $23.23 - $40.95 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
Minimum of one year of professional experience providing consultation and support to end-users.
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience in a higher education environment.
Basic knowledge of functional area. Basic analytical skills to conduct analysis, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge of the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and multimedia-rich online learning content, and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning. Working knowledge and skills with relevant business software and cloud-based systems. Ability to communicate technical solutions to a variety of audiences. Ability to work well in teams, as well as work independently. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while under aggressive timelines.
Preferred:
Certificate in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or related discipline.
Basic knowledge of adult learning theories and education methodologies. Technical and professional experience using and supporting faculty and students using a learning management system, preferably Canvas learning management system by Instructure. Familiarity with web accessibility and updating web pages using HTML. Experience/Knowledge of UCI purchasing procedures and Kuali Financial Systems Basic knowledge of organization policies and procedures, including policies that impact online course development. Basic knowledge of instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc.
