The Wiemels Laboratory studies the causes and outcomes of cancers. In support of these studies the laboratory extracts high quality DNA and proteins from a large number subject samples and prepares and runs them for a number of downstream applications, including DNA array analysis and sequencing, performed by external vendors. The Research Laboratory Technician will support this essential function of our lab, under the supervision of the lab manager and the principal investigator.Under direct supervision and with training provided, the individual will extract high quality DNA and protein samples using manual or machine assisted techniques.
