In this role, you're expected to:
The Client Implementations organization sits within Securities Services Operations and is responsible for Program and Project management of client implementations on behalf of the Securities Services business.
This role reports directly to the Global Head of Client Implementations and is responsible for providing direct oversight and leadership of a Regional team (Americas, Europe or Asia & Australia) of Program and Project Managers and Project Management Support staff. As part of the Global Implementations Senior Leadership Team they will work in collaboration with other Regional Heads to ensure we drive global consistency and best in class implementations for new and existing clients across all products. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to develop close partnerships with senior business and O&T stakeholders in his/her region.
The Regional Head will be a seasoned leader with a strong client facing presence, and able to work closely with Product, Sales and Client Executive partners to consult with clients early in the sales cycle and understand the clients' needs against the various product catalogues. This role is pivotal in leading the RFP process with both existing and new clients, including definition of an implementation strategy for such deals, program management planning and on boarding plans to ensure the successful delivery of the project. Through this role, the candidate will connect the requirements across the relevant business, technology and operations functional areas.
Specific areas of focus for the next 12 months will be:
Driving global standardization of the implementation process in collaboration with Regional partners
Establishing robust governance of the deal pipeline and implementing effective capacity planning
Enhancing the large deal due diligence process
Ongoing areas of regional responsibility include:
Setting strategic direction for the regional team and definition of success criteria in partnership with senior stakeholders
Leveraging the global organisation where required by engaging stakeholders within Operations, Technology, Business, Compliance, Legal and Regional Management
Monitoring/measuring of client satisfaction both through the Implementation process and post implementation to ensure best in class service
Developing and communicating a regular status of all implementations in the relevant region highlighting any potential risks
Leadership of all tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, resourcing and support of the day-to-day activities of running a multi country team
Hiring, developing and rewarding staff based on meritocracy and promoting collaboration and diversity.
Identifying and developing high performers and driving people strategies that leverage, engage and develop talent across the Implementations organization
Engaging in client discussions & relationship management activities as required to support the various businesses
Managing budgets and headcount plans in order to meet targets
Maintaining a culture and environment where processes and controls are continually monitored and potential risks escalated on a timely basis
Act as a point of escalation for customer concerns as they arise
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:
BS/BA degree or equivalent in relevant subject preferred (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Management)
Significant experience in Tier 1 global financial institution
Excellent communications skills and proven success interacting with senior management both in the business, and corporate functions as well as with Operations, Business and Technology senior management
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive with strong organizational skills
Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations
Experience leading large projects and programs of work across multiple functions and/or geographies
Experience of working in a matrix environment and ability to navigate such organization effectively
Demonstrated experience leading people and developing effective and diverse teams
Securities Services Product knowledge
