The Operations Supervisor I is responsible for the on-site operations including; glass washing facility, package/mail delivery and space management for the Department of Genetics.
This position will supervise the activities of personnel engaged in glass wash facility and maintain strong relationships with package runners. The Operations Supervisor I position will work closely with Operations and Facilities Management Mail & Receiving Services.
This role will also be responsible for other on-site needs for the Department of Genetics including; managing shared department equipment and assets, assisting in the annual space survey and working closely with researchers and lab members within the department and other business office staff including technical specialists.
This position will report to the Business Director of the Department of Genetics and will have direct supervision responsibilities.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the glass wash facility including supervising team member(s), verify time records, schedule/train employees, ordering and repairing equipment and necessary associated supplies
Ensure positions are staffed appropriately and that staff are trained according to written procedures.
Responsible for hiring and completing performance evaluations for team.
Coordinate with intra-department package runners as well as Operations and Facilities Managementâ™s Mail & Receiving Services to ensure high level of customer service for department
Process work requests, research work orders, coordinate visits, etc. Includes repair orders, detergent ordering, and general repairs needed for labs and common spaces
Responsible for data collection for shared equipment and space surveys, includes service contracts, and working with business director(s) on space survey.
Perform other duties as assigned. Â

Salary Range
$40,500.00 - $67,000.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
