The University of California, Office of the President Systemwide HR Strategic Project office presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to gain substantial experience in diverse, innovative assignments, thereby honing their skills for a progressive career in Human Resources.
Position Summary
In this crucial role, the HR Project Analyst will be at the helm of project management, driving the delivery of HR work streams that have emerged from a recent comprehensive HR review. This pivotal position places the Analyst in a position of responsibility for crafting, managing, and executing a range of projects designed to standardize and bolster HR practices throughout the organization. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Project Analyst will establish new processes for managing consultants involved in commercial contracting, showcasing the scope and diversity of the role. To excel in this role, the successful candidate will utilize their skills as an experienced professional with a broad understanding of organizational practices and priorities. These skills will be instrumental in assessing, developing, and implementing aspects of assignments within the Systemwide HR office. In addition, the HR Project Analyst will also need the ability to gather and organize information, perform detailed analyses, and develop recommendations that meet project management deliverables, ensuring that this role is both challenging and rewarding. Job Scope: A Project Analyst within SWHR will typically oversee HR-related projects across SWHR units. The managing of projects may include but is not limited to, project planning, team management, budget management, timeline management, stakeholder communication, risk management, compliance, documentation, evaluation, change management, vendor management, quality assurance, reporting, and employee development. This position can be hybrid or it is eligible for a remote work arrangement within the state of California. The selected candidate must reside within the state of California or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
40% Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific HR projects from inception to completion. This includes defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
25% Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to standardize HR practices across the organization. This will include reviewing and updating existing policies as well as creating new ones to ensure optimal HR operations.
20% Create, manage, and streamline new processes for effectively managing consultants involved in commercial contracting. This will involve close liaison with both internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure seamless operations and compliance with contractual terms.
15% Gather and organize relevant data, perform comprehensive analysis, and develop actionable recommendations to meet project deliverables. This includes presenting findings to senior management, making suggestions for improvements, and driving the implementation of approved changes.

The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
