Position Summary:
Southern Oregon University Parking provides for the management of the parking regulations, procedures, and enforcement on campus, as well as the maintenance of parking lots. SOU Parking also manages the sale of parking permits and event parking coordination.
The Parking Coordinator ensures users of campus parking facilities are authorized through permits to park on campus property and enforces related parking rules. This position will train CPS personnel onthe parking management system, supervise/train student parking staff, schedule parking events, invoicecampus departments and events, process citations, maintain parking meters, assist walk-ins, and manage parking lot maintenance.
Minimum Classification Qualifications:
Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of, and experience with, Nupark parking management system.

Scheduling Parking Events: -Review department requests for guest parking passes, train departments and outside groups on useand rules, invoices departments for code usage. -Approve/Deny parking event requests for all of SOU campus through scheduling, resource allocation,communication, marketing, fees, and invoicing. -Post temporary signage and other resources if necessary. -Update event parking calendar for enforcement. -Create and issue event codes for parking events. -Review code usage reports for accuracy and investigates any unusual usage activity. Monitors department code use for compliance.

Parking Program:
-Write/Update SOU parking rules and procedures to submit for final review by the Director. -Train student workers and other classified staff on using the LPR hardware and software and on parkingrules and procedures, including how to issue proper parking citations according to the most updatedcampus parking rules and procedures. -Maintain parking software: NuPark, Boss, Digital Iris, Scout and Pay By Phone. -Access and monitor communication between parking programs and software such as Banner and Cashnet. -Create and maintain department portals and events through NuPark and provide department training. -Create and maintain the VIP parking permit list; including an annual review of the VIP parking requeststo verify that criteria is met for VIP parking permit eligibility. -Process volunteer parking pass requests and determine eligibility, maintain volunteer parking lists withan annual review of eligibility
-DMV Checks to include collections for non-SOU visitors. (Non-banner) -Create customer accounts. -Issue and maintain parking permits to include payment process and verification of financials in the parking program which are associated with parking. -Process citations to include payment processing for checks ensuring appropriate charges to accountsand adjust as needed. -Process appeals and prepare them for review. -Conflict mediation for parking citation complaints. -Train and supervise student parking staff. -Coordinate Traffic, Planning and Parking Committee. -Serve on transportation or parking related committees as needed or instructed by Director.

Office Walk-ins/Front Office: -Maintain department webpages and insures compliance with SOU web accessibility requirements. -Permit sales. -Monitor, respond, and process department emails. -Monitor, answer, and process Parking/CPS phone lines. -Manage daily event list. -Order and stock campus maps for information booths. -Process office supply orders to include all supplies needed for meters, handhelds and citations. -Submit FMP work requests.

Parking Meters: -Conduct maintenance of parking meters. -Identify/fix problems with hardware. -Conduct coin collection and delivery to Service Center. -Escort Service Center personnel to the bank for coin deposit. -Order supplies as needed.

Parking Lot Maintenance: -Ensure signage is legible and current. -Order and replace signs as needed. -Manage and ensure parking stalls, curbs, and parking zone identifiers are correct and visible.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
