Job Description: What We Are Looking For
The Baylor University Department of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing is seeking a full-time Senior Academic Consultant to support the mission of Baylor University. By providing administrative and technical support for Clinical Simulation Building labs and classroom technology, provide administrative and technical support for Canvas courses creation, assist faculty and staff with Canvas course modifications, assist faculty and staff with office technology issues, and provide assistance to students with issues related to personal devices, printing and exams.
This position is based in Dallas, TX. A Bachelors degree, one year of relevant work experience, and a Christian faith are required. A Bachelors degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will not be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Special Knowledge, Skills or Other Abilities Minimum Required: In-depth knowledge of Windows operating system, internet technologies, and PC software. Familiarity with digital cameras, printers, and multimedia equipment.
Preferred Skills or Other Abilities: Working knowledge of classroom audio/visual technology. Ability to teach non-technical users on operation of classroom technology, personal software and Canvas learning management system.
What You Will Do
LHSON IT Lead person for the Clinical Simulation Building. This position will be responsible for all audio/visual, IT and network functionality and devices in the Clinical Simulation Building. Responsibilities include:
Administer and maintain the simulation recording & debriefing system.
Manages employee access, works with vendor on updates, and ensures operational processes are compatible with university guidelines and requirements.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sim lab technology: computers, LMS/EHR/web applications, and audiovisual equipment for LHSON Simulation Labs and classrooms.
Provide secondary support for LHSON's Canvas subaccounts including converting Keypath courses, adding Baylor and partner employees to courses, modifying course functionality as requested by faculty and providing 1st level help desk support to LHSON faculty and students.
Provide secondary support for faculty and staff technical issues including malfunctioning computers and peripherals, software support, one-on-one training on office and classroom equipment and software.
Maintain an awareness and knowledge of industry developments by attending conferences and reading journals. Provide information and recommendations to future technology upgrades and purchases.
Other technology related duties as assigned by supervisor
