Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
The North American Supply Chain (NASC) IT team is responsible for providing, supporting, and enhancing IT solutions for Cardinal Health's medical supplies distribution centers. Supported solutions include large, complex, leading-edge warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, automation integrations, analytics, and more.
The NASC IT team is looking for a highly motivated individual to help with ongoing run support and maintenance and to lead various projects . The successful candidate will be responsible for working along-side our support team in various capacities to maintain system stability and help improve existing operations. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to various industry supply chain systems including Robotics, AS/RS, IOT and AI/ML automation across the Medical Supply chain directly impacting the warehouse and customer experience.
Responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams consisting of workstream leads, consultants / contractors, and facility managers on software support, maintenance, and defect fix for outage reductions.
Build and manage relationships with the Medical business leaders in operations, distribution, and other user groups.
Plan and execute system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces
Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
Analyzes production system operations utilizing proactive monitoring, alerting, and capacity analysis. Lead root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
Understand business requirements and supply chain integrations and work to support across software platforms.
Responsible for design and development of technology on a multi-year roadmap.
Collaborate with software vendor partners as a technical SME/liaison, understanding application architecture, schema and existing or future interfaces.
Collaborate with AIMS.NEXT team throughout design phase, participate in various design sessions and develop Build to Run expertise
Plan and address the stability, risk, and recovery concerns of WMS application suite by collaborating with software vendor, shared services, and managed services partners.
Create/develop an automated delivery pipeline that assists in implementing software more efficiently.
Act as technical lead/mentor on team to provide skill uplift to junior team members.
Development of policies, procedures and providing training/ support to end users.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
8-12 years experience in related field preferred
Knowledge of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, APIs and microservices helpful
Familiarity of application platforms like .Net, Java is preferred
Working knowledge of building and deploying containerized application on Kubernetes, PCF and GCP/AWS Cloud preferred.
Hands on experience with databases (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL), SQL queries, database modelling and SQL performance tuning preferred
Experience with DevSecOps, automated build, and source control technologies.
Experience in supporting software/hardware tech refresh support.
Excellent leadership, project management, analytical and critical thinking skills
Personal drive and ability to learn new technologies & platforms.
Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
