Overview
The Business Control Unit (BCU) is a part of the front office corporate operations function created during the implementation of the three line of defense program. Its primary objective is to support the front office manage non-financial risk by creating a robust control framework as part of the first line of defense (1LoD). The team's mandate is to identify non-financial risks (NFR), define mitigation processes for those risks, as well as to monitor controls. In addition to working closely with the Business heads and broader banking population, the group's reach and interaction is broad, including engagement with the Investment Banks (IB) Divisional Control Officer (DCO), those functions forming the Second Line of Defense (2LoD) as well as Group Audit which is the Banks' Third Line of Defense. This role will be in the Americas Origination and Advisory (O&A) business supporting the global BCU function.

What You'll Do
Be the Business Controls Unit Office for the Investment Banking Coverage and Advisory (IBCA) business; identifying non-financial risks (regulatory, conduct, operational and systemic) for IBCA and definition of control requirements thereof
Initially support, and then drive, the regional completion of the Risk and Controls Assessment process for the IBCA business
Partner with Chief Operating Officer/Business Management team to support control activities
Developing, implementing, and monitoring level 1 controls within IBCA
Responsibility for monitoring the risk remediation/implementation on key issues within IBCA
Creating and monitoring metrics/reports to ensure appropriate monitoring, management, and transparency of non-financial risks; creation of management reporting and escalation process to senior management on the state of controls within
How You'll Lead
Interface with business leaders in O&A to confirm business risk profile
Interface with 2nd LOD partners to confirm agreement of business risk profile
Interface with central program teams in implementation of the Bank's key Non Financial Risk deliverables
Skills You'll Need
Project management experience handling front office deliverables within an investment bank
Strong analytical skills with a strong finance/economic academic background
Solid command over Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience in working with senior level management maintaining confidentiality
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Relevant experience in investment banking controls/supervisory activities in a relevant risk, middle office, or control function
Strong communication skills with the ability to formulate clearly and present information in a compelling manner
Taking initiative, and creating a collaborative problem-solving team culture

Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $170K to $200K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
